This new decal sheet from Cutting Edge Modelworks includes markings for 6 different 1/48 He-162's including 2 in captured markings (RAF).

The first He-162 A-2 flown by Lt Rudolf Schmitt with a  claimed Typhoon kill on Apr 24 1945 with 1./JG 1.  The paint scheme on this He-162 is a RLM 81Brown/ RLM 82 Green on the top with RLM 76 light blue on the underside with RLM 23 red cowl ring on the front of the engine.  The national markings are German with a  large red arrow on the side of the nose and a white 1 on the side of the fuselage.  Below the canopy on the side of the fuselage is a red crest  with a black bird of prey in an attack position.  A few people feel this crest should be yellow instead of red, so there is red one as well as a yellow crest included on the decal sheet.

The second He-162 A-2 W.Nr. 120072 Air Min 61 and was surrendered at Leck, England Oct 1945.  The paint scheme on this He-162 is a RLM 70, 71 or 83 on the top with RLM 76 light blue on the underside with RLM 23 red cowl ring on the front of the engine.  The national markings are British with a  large red arrow on the side of the nose with white text on the rear side of the fuselage that reads "AIR MIN 61".

The third He-162 A-2 W.Nr. 120235 with 3./JG 1 at Leck in May 1945.  The paint scheme on this He-162 is a RLM 81Brown/ RLM 82 Green on the top with RLM 76 light blue on the underside with RLM 04 yellow cowl ring on the front of the engine.  The national markings are German with a  large red arrow on the side of the nose and a yellow 6 on the side of the fuselage.  Below the canopy on the side of the fuselage is a crest with a cyclops monster raising above the clouds in a threating pose.

The fourth He-162 A-2 W.Nr. 120077 flown by Lt Gerhard Hanf with 2./JG 1 in May 1945.  The paint scheme on this He-162 is a RLM 70, 71 or 83 on the top with RLM 76 light blue

on the underside.  The national markings are German with a  large red arrow on the side of the nose with white text below the canopy with a crest in front of the text and a red number 1 on the side of the fuselage.

The fifth He-162 A-2 W.Nr. 120098 VH 513 Air Min 67 at Leck, England Oct 1945.  The paint scheme on this He-162 is a RLM 81Brown/ RLM 82 Green on the top with RLM 76 light blue on the underside with RLM 23 red cowl ring on the front of the engine.  The national markings are British with a  large red arrow on the side of the nose with red text on the rear side of the fuselage that reads "VH513".

The sixth He-162 A-2  W.Nr. 120089 with 3./JG 1 in April 1945.  The paint scheme on this He-162 is a RLM 81Brown/ RLM 82 Green on the top with RLM 76 light blue on the underside with RLM 23 red cowl ring on the front of the engine.  The national markings are German with a large red arrow on the side of the nose and a white 5 on the side of the fuselage.

The decals were flawlessly printed and in perfect registration and the clear carrier film is trimmed very close to the crisply printed colored areas.

The instructions are clear and include 3 view colour drawings and well as 1 page of b&w instructions including text about 1 of these planes as well as general text about all the planes..

A very nice decal sheet and highly recommended for anyone with a passion for this Luftwaffe jet.

I would like to thank Cutting Edge Modelworks for providing me with this review sample.
