This
is Hasegawa's old tooling F-15 (kit C6) - not many parts, not many details, no
engraved panel lines. Fit ranges from good to bad. However the parts are quite
clean.
Due
to these circumstances I wanted this to be rather a fun project than a time
consuming masterpiece. But that doesn't mean I didn't try to add more detail. In
the beginning I tried to use some spare parts from the other F-15 kits. But they
won't fit without extra work, so I gave up this idea.

I
improved the cockpit by adding seat belts, cushions, mirrors, handles and a
2-slice-HUD. The control stick is taken from a CF-18 - not realistic, but better
than nothing.
The
canopy and the stabilizers were modified and are moveable.
The
wing to fuselage joint was the opposite of what one would call smooth, the
intakes and also the external tank were the same. Sanding, filling, sanding! A
smooth step is still noticeable but what the heck!
Then
some antennas here and there and it was almost done. Painting and decalling went
without major problems.
Simple
kit, quick assembly! It took only 15 days - that's quick for me! Apart from the
cockpit shape (too wide) the result looks like a F-15 to me.
